Volunteers required to support the Association at the August 2011 Birr Vintage Week. If you live in Ireland and can help out during the week please get in touch with us. We need volunteers to help distribute material, help with the sale of goods from our shop and generally to meet and greet visitors who come to our events that take place during the week. The "Friends of the Leinster Regiment Association" are based in Ireland and work alongside the Association to facilitate events and meetings that are held within the Republic. The "Friends" in addition to being full members of the Association, provide the valuable link with local communities from whence originated the officers and mend of the Regiment. In August 2010 the "Friends" organised a short programme of events held during the 42nd Birr Vintage Week and Festival that included a lecture at Birr Library by the Association's historian Ian Lowe, and a field trip to Crinkle to visit the Military Cemetery once part of the mighty Birr Barracks. There a wreath was laid at the foot of the Boar War monument to the fallen of the Depot (3rd) Battalion of the Leinster Regiment.
