These are the Ceilidh photographs taken during the 90th Anniversary
commemoration of the liberation of the village of Guillemont during the battle
of the Somme in 1916.
The welcome party (soirée) was held in the courtyard of one of the farms in Guillemont village Local villagers and association guests arrived in the early evening The impromptu folk trio started the evenings entertainment The musical challenge was taken up by the pipes and drums The villagers of Guillemont took the challenge of providing dinner for over 400 persons. The
traditional Irish music started once more The squirl of the pipes proved extremely popular As did the roll of the drums
