Review of Market Square Apartment Ieper (Ypres)

This tasteful and modern apartment is directly opposite the famous Cloth Hall, in the Market Square of Ieper. Privately owned and maintained by Din De Keersmaecker this is an ideal place to stay in Ypres when you want the convenience of coming and going at your own pace. The decor and provided equipment are excellent. It is 100 percent self catering so you will need to stock up on essentials such as food and drink! However a supermarket is just a hundred meters away.
Prices work out around 350-700 Euro for a week, depending how many in your party and what extras you take. Maximum party size is a stated 10 persons, but if all persons in your party are adults then probably the nearer maximum is six adults with privacy. Weekend and mid-week rates are also available. Bed linen and towels etc, are extra on a per person basis, though you can always provide your own if you prefer. Easy to do if you arrive by car.

The lounge/diner is very large and comfortable with access to a private roof top veranda where you can sit and take a drink on warm evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped and (strangely) there is a clothes washing machine if you rent more than one bedroom. A total of three bedrooms are 'upstairs' (up a modern winding staircase) as is the main bathroom/shower & toilet. When more than one bedroom is rented a second bathroom (accessible through the kitchen) is available.

The apartment is on the second floor, up an interior stairway. There is no lift (elevator). You get a key to the street access door and a key to the apartment door.
Car parking is in the main square on a Pay and Display basis, but watch out for Market Days (every Saturday) when the local authority clear the car park after midnight Friday until late Saturday afternoon. There is another smaller nearby car park, also Pay and Display, that has no market day restrictions.
