During the Great War 1914-1918, the village of Guillemont in France was relieved by the 16th (Irish) Division during the Battle of the Somme, September 1916. First into the village were the Prince of Wales's Leinster Regiment. This short video clip is from the 90th Anniversary of the commemoration of the relief of the village attended by the Mayor and population of Guillemont and members of the Combined Irish Regiments Association, September 2006. |
