The 2006 Christmas Social was held on the 9th December from 12 noon onward at the The Albert Tavern, 52 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0NP

This entertaining event was attended by over fifty members of the Combined Irish Regiments Association during the course of the afternoon and it was good to see many Leinster Association insignia and ties being worn. The event was also honoured with the presence of two soldiers from the Royal Hospital (Chelsea Pensioners) resplendent in the scarlet coats and walking out uniform. Christmas letters received from soldiers serving in Afghanistan & Iraq were read out to the assembled members and indeed to all the customers within the whole public house; these letters were applauded by all and a rousing toast given for their safe homecoming. Music and song of course formed part of the day with many an old soldier's song and chorus sung at full volume, even if from time to time age got the better of memory when it came to some of the words!

Congratulations to those who organised the event and our best wishes to all who were unable to take part for whatever reason.
